Directions
From Cooperstown: From the traffic light in the Village, follow Route 80 east approximately 1 mile.
From Syracuse and Buffalo and Points West
- Take I-90 east to Exit 30 at Herkimer.
- Take Route 28 south to Cooperstown.
- At stop sign turn left onto Route 80 east/Chestnut Street.
- Continue one block beyond the traffic light and turn left at stop sign following Route 80 east/Lake Road.
- Continue 1 mile. The Farmers' Museum is on the left.
From Albany and Boston and Points East
- Take I-90 west to Exit 25A.
- Take I-88 west to Exit 24 (Duanesburg) and get on Route 7.
- Follow Route 7 to Route 20 west.
- Take Route 20 west, turning left on Route 80 west.
- Continue on Route 80 west for 10 miles, as it heads south along Otsego Lake. The Farmers' Museum is on the right.
From Binghamton and Points South
- Take I-88 east to Exit 17.
- Take Route 28 north into Cooperstown.
- Follow Route 80 east/Chestnut Street to traffic light.
- Continue one block beyond traffic light and turn left at stop sign, following Route 80 east/Lake Road.
- Continue 1 mile. The Farmers' Museum is on the left.
From Burlington, Vermont, and Points North
- Take I-87 south to Albany.
- Take I-90 west to Exit 25A.
- Take I-88 west to Exit 24 (Duanesburg) and get on Route 7.
- Follow Route 7 to Route 20 west.
- Take Route 20 west, turning left on Route 80 west.
- Continue on Route 80 west for 10 miles, as it heads south along Otsego Lake. The Farmers' Museum is on the right.
From New York City
- Take I-87 north to I-90.
- Take I-90 west to Exit 25A.
- Take I-88 west to Exit 24 (Duanesburg) and get on Route 7.
- Follow Route 7 to Route 20 west.
- Take Route 20 west, turning left on Route 80 west.
- Continue on Route 80 west for 10 miles, as it heads south along Otsego Lake. The Farmers' Museum is on the right.
Description
The Farmers' Museum is a private educational institution, serving the public, that is dedicated to representing American rural life as typified in central New York by preserving the past, recording the present and educating for the future.
Parking
Free parking is available as follows:
- Lot outside the main entrance to the museum
- Small lot directly across the street from the Main Barn
- Yellow trolley lot located across the road from The Farmers' Museum and 1/10-mile north of Fenimore Art Museum. A sidewalk extends from the trolley lot to The Farmers' Museum
