    Our animal-themed season opener features Schubert's  "Trout" Quintet, an arrangement of Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals, Henrich von Biber's Sonata Representativa, and George Crumb's Vox Balaenae (Voice of the Whale) for masked players. Artists include Gil Morgenstern, violin; Kathryn Lockwood, viola; David Geber, cello; Wilhelmina Smith, cello; Jeremy McCoy, double bass; Linda Chesis, flute; Shirley Irek, piano

    Sunday, July 13 at 7:30 pm, The Farmers' Museum
    Come hear this award-winning quartet, whom the New York Times calls "flawlessly balanced, perfectly tuned and sheathed in lustrous textures," perform works by Haydn, Janáček, and Beethoven.

    Linda Chesis, flute; David Geber, cello; and Shirley Irek, piano perform with accomplished amateur musicians, in free concerts throughout the community.    (There will also be a private performance for the residents of the Thanksgiving Home in Cooperstown.)

  • Daedalus Quartet with David Shifrin *
    Sunday, August 3 at 7:30 pm, Christ Episcopal Church
    The Daedalus Quartet, Grand Prize winner of the Banff International String Quartet Competition, performs the Brahms' Clarinet Quintet with three-time Grammy nominee David Shifrin, and works by Haydn and Shostakovich.

    Join us in the lovely ballroom at the Otesaga for a free concert featuring a flute choir from the New York Summer Music Festival's International Flute Institute. No ticket or reservation necessary.

  • Gala 10th Anniversary Concert: The Brandenburg Concertos
    Sunday, August 17 at 7:30 pm, The Farmers' Museum
    One of the largest ensembles ever gathered at the Festival celebrates ten summers of chamber music in Cooperstown with Bach's joyous Brandenburg Concertos nos. 3-6 featuring returning Festival artists Timothy Fain and Bradley Brookshire.
     
  • The Brubeck Brothers Quartet
    Tuesday, August 19 at 7:30 pm, Otesaga Resort Hotel
    The jazz dynasty continues. Daniel Brubeck, drums; Chris Brubeck, bass & trombone; guitarist Mike DeMicco, and pianist Chuck Lamb perform straight-ahead jazz with a mix of funk, blues and world music.
