8.7.16 ‘WMHT Live!’ at 6 pm airs a Cooperstown Summer Music Festival presentation from August 9, 2015. It’s a program called “A Little Night & Day Music.” Works by Beethoven, Reger, Dohnanyi and more. Recorded at the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown, New York.

7.29.16 2pm WMHT Educational Telecommunications “No Ticket Required” airs a Festival performance of the Ries Quintet for Flute and Strings featuring artistic director Linda Chesis, flute and the Amphion String Quartet. Recorded at the The Farmers’ Museum in Cooperstown, New York.

6.15.16 Performance Today features a Cooperstown Summer Music Festival performance by Nicholas Canellakis, cello, and Roman Rabinovich of the Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 19: Movements 1-2 by Sergei Rachmaninoff

5.19.16 Performance Today featured a 2015 Festival performance by Frank Huang, violin; and Dimitri Murrath, viola of Johann Halvorsen: “Passacaglia for violin and viola after a theme by Handel.” Dimitri Murrath returns to the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival to perform September 11 with flutist and Festival artistic director Linda Chesis and harpist June Han in a concert of works by Debussy, Bax and Ravel.

5.14.16 The American String Quartet’s 2014 Festival performance will be featured on WCNY Classic FM’s The Concert Hall.

4.22.16 WMHT’s No Ticket Required aired Gershwin:Rhapsody in Blue performed by pianist Eric Huebner last August at the Festival.

4.20.16 WSKG’s Bill Snyder interviewed Festival Artistic Director Linda Chesis and the American String Quartet’s Daniel Avshalomov about the Festival’s opening concert on April 24.

4.16.16 WCNY’s Concert Hall aired selections from the Festival’s 2014 Inspired by Italy concert, which featured the Enso String Quartet, Linda Chesis, Raman Ramakrishnan and Richard Young.

3.7.16 Performance Today featured Cooperstown Summer Music Festival July 2013 performance of  Jean Francaix’s Quartet for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet and Bassoon by Linda Chesis, James Roe, Marianne Gythfeldt, and Adrian Morejon. Performance Today is America’s most popular classical music radio program; the show is broadcast on 294 public radio stations, including WCNY, WMHT and WSKG.

Fred’s PT videos: Cooperstown Music & Baseball Music on today’s show from the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival, just around the corner from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Which gives me an excuse to talk about the two baseballs I keep on my desk at work, one of which travelled 420 feet off the bat of 2016 Hall of Fame inductee Mike Piazza. –Fred

The season ends grandly, with a concert by none other than the Juilliard String Quartet.
