Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano Bring Cabaret to
Cooperstown Acclaimed Duo Perform at the
Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival
The Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival, now in its 12th season, will
feature an evening of cabaret with Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano
on August 13 at 7:30 pm at the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown,
NY.
Winners of the 2010 New York Nightlife Award for
Outstanding Cabaret Duo, Comstock and Fasano will perform the music
of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, the Gershwins, Duke Ellington, and
Joni Mitchell. Earlier this year, the duo had a critically acclaimed
run at the Oak Room at New York City’s Algonquin Hotel.

Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival Announces Season, July
21 – August 23: Discounted Tickets offered through July 21
[July 14, 2010] The Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival will
present its 12th season, July 21 – August 23. The Festival features
the Borromeo String Quartet, Music from Copland House, cabaret with
Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano, and the Anderson & Roe piano duo.
The season offers classical music, cabaret, contemporary works, and
daytime family concerts.
Through July 21, the Festival is offering a savings of
up to 20 percent on subscriptions and individual tickets. The
Festival also will host a second free evening concert, on August 5,
the Flute Fest at the Otesaga. This concert features featuring
highly accomplished young performers from the New York Summer Music
Festival’s International Flute Institute.

Free Concert to Open 12th Season of the Cooperstown
Chamber Music Festival: Accomplished Amateur and Professional
Musicians to Perform at The Farmers’ Museum on July 21
[July 12, 2010] Have you heard the one about the
neurosurgeon, the molecular biologist, and the scientist walking
onto a stage? At the Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival’s Pro-Am
Seminar concerts, the result of these three walking onto the stage
result is wonderful music. The third annual seminar, which runs
July 17 -21, pairs accomplished amateur musicians with professional
musicians. Artists leading the ProAm are Shirley Irek, piano; David
Geber, cello; and flutist Linda Chesis, who is the founder and
artistic director of the Festival.

The Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival will present its 12th season,
July 21 – August 23. The Festival features the Borromeo String
Quartet, Music from Copland House, cabaret with Eric Comstock and
Barbara Fasano, and the Anderson & Roe piano duo. Artists returning
to the Festival include flutist and Festival artistic director Linda
Chesis, harpsichordist Bradley Brookshire, pianist Shirley Irek, and
cellists Inbal Segev and David Geber. New to the Festival are
soprano Joélle Harvey, who will appear at Glimmerglass Opera this
season; pianist William Wolfram, violinist Owen Dalby, and cellist
Loretta O’Sullivan. The 10-concert season includes two
children’s daytime concerts and two free evening concerts. read

Milton Glaser receives
National Medal of Arts
On Feb 25th, 2010, Milton Glaser received the The National Medal of
Arts. The award was presented by President Obama in the East Room of
The White House. Milton was the first designer to receive this
honor. In addition to Milton, the recipients included Bob Dylan,
Clint Eastwood, Maya Lin, Rita Moreno, Jessye Norman, Joseph P.
Riley, Jr., Frank Stella, Michael Tilson Thomas, and John Williams.
